Mom's Jello Delight

This was one of my most favorite deserts growing up. I think it tastes best when frozen(tastes like icecream, but it does not need to be frozen.

2 cups graham crumbs
1/2 cup margerine, melted
Mix together Press into a greased 9x13 pan, reserving 1/2 cup of crumbs for the top

Melt 1 small pkg (1/2 cup) red jello in 1 cup boiling water
cool but not thick

1 tin evaporated milk (Pacific works best)
1/2 cup sugar
1 pkg of whipit (optional but helpful)
Beat until stiff
Mix in cool jello
Pour over crumbs
Keep refridgerated till served

Fruit can be added to the jello

  1. This is one of my favorite desserts that my mum made too! We usually used strawberry jello and folded some frozen berries in too. Yum.
    I've never had it frozen! What a good idea.
